We have some very special brethren in Ayr, Scotland. They dearly love the Lord, his Church, and and His Word. Rev. Gavin Beers' very fine exposition on the uses of the law was one of the best I've heard. We enjoyed spending time with the Stuart MacKay (pronounced MacKie) family. We so appreciated their hospitality, and the food was quite good! Our fellowship time with them reminded us of our church in Greenville South Carolina. We enjoyed much godly conversation and were encouraged in the faith.
On Monday, Rev. Beers took us to Peden's Cove where saw the natural theatre across the Ayr River where John Peden preached to 1000's at various conventicles. Peden stood on a rock on one side of the river and preached to the congregation in the woods on the other side. I felt close in time as well as space to our covenanting Brethren who sacrificed much to worship God according to Scripture.
This blog entry must be short for now since the internet access we have is very limited.
